After 3 weeks of taking and uploading a picture every day, I’m wondering what in the world I have gotten myself into.
The first week I got into food. Which was great since I had never really thought that food photography interested me. I had assisted food photographers and admired their attention to detail and expertise in color accuracy, but I myself was not moved to take pictures of food. Until this project. Something about being able to do whatever I pleased, playing with the food and doing it only for myself, I throughly enjoyed it.
The second week was all over the place, much like the first. I again did something I never thought was my style. I found myself taking conceptual photos with figurines and objects. Like the two shoes in a show-down or the day of the dead married couple on a Monopoly board. But I think what really came out of the second week was that I started playing with stop animation. Which brings me to week three.
Walking Madrid has been a fantastically fun project with no end. After taking over 2,500 photos of Madrid in a week, many themes became obvious. I will continue the walking Madrid project, but with a change of focus. The photo stories will now emphasize the recurring themes I noticed last week.
Next week the walking photos will stop for a while. I want this project to focus back on one image that links to the next. Week four will tie together the themes that surfaced in January.
